  • Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) when writing job applications

  • Whilst AI can help organise and speed up the longer written elements of applications, it may not fully understand the context or requirements of the job you’re applying for, and it certainly won’t understand you as well as you do! If you do use AI to generate parts or all of your application, and particularly your supporting information section, it’s crucial that you personalise it because we want to hear from you, in your own unique voice and about your unique qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experiences.

  • The College is obliged to seek two references for all new starters, therefore please provide full details of two referees, one of which must be your present employer, or your most recent employer if you are currently unemployed. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2024 guidance, if you are successfully shortlisted for an interview, we will seek to request references from both of your referees prior to your interview, therefore we ask that you please provide your consent for this below. If you prefer that we do not contact your current employer at this stage, please indicate this and where this is the case, we would appreciate your consent to approach your second referee.

  • Please note that your consent will not be sought again, which means that references will automatically be requested if you are shortlisted for interview. Please therefore take care to ensure you answer correctly below, to avoid any unwanted reference requests being sent.

This processing of data will be conducted under the legal basis of Article 6(e) public task, in line with the guidance laid out in para 221 of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2022. Any data collected during this search will be retained in line with our retention schedule, which is available on request.
